A few of the things we make ourselves, from scratch, every week.

Signature Scotch egg on celeriac remoulade with pineapple salsa and balsamic reduction

A familiar favourite. Uncommonly delicious.

Meet our signature Scotch egg — a little Stag & Hounds pride on a plate.

We start with a locally sourced, free-range egg, wrapped in a rich blend of pork, chorizo and black pudding, with venison taking the place of pork when in season. A crisp, golden crumb brings it all together.

Underneath, creamy celeriac remoulade balances the rich filling, while our homemade pineapple salsa adds a bright, fruity sweetness. A finishing drizzle of balsamic reduction completes every delicious mouthful.

It’s a starter we’re proud of, and one we’d love you to try when you visit.

When you choose a pie, make it a proper pie.

At The Stag & Hounds, we make ours from scratch — from the homemade pastry to the generous, flavour-packed filling.

We use locally sourced meat, carefully chosen herbs and good, slow cooking, giving every filling time to develop its rich flavour and making the meat beautifully tender. Then we wrap it all in our own pastry, ready to bake until golden.

Every pie is made by hand, with care and pride. Nothing pretentious — just honest, homemade comfort food that makes you look forward to the next mouthful.

Proper sausages. Made here. Full of character.

We love making sausages — and we love giving you something a little different.

Here at The Stag & Hounds, we make our own by hand, using fresh ingredients and no added preservatives. From mixing and seasoning to filling and linking, we put care into every batch.

Our flavours change from week to week, with familiar favourites alongside more adventurous combinations. It gives us room to get creative in the kitchen and gives you another reason to come back hungry.

Homemade, full of flavour and made with pride, right here in your village pub.
